Junior Rifle Program

Introduction

FTRPA offers a Junior Rifle Program to Club member’s family and friends and the local community. NRA certified instructors lead classes providing school aged children beginner and advanced shooting sports training. The beginner course teaches basic firearm safety and marksmanship. It is offered without charge. FTRPA maintains .22 caliber rimfire single shot rifles that are supplied for use in the course. Ear & eye protection and ammunition are provided, along with all necessary course materials.

The Junior Rifle Program is divided into two groups:

• The A Group is for students who have completed the NRA Basic Rifle course. All students aged 20 or under who have successfully completed the B Group are eligible to participate in the A Group program. Students do not need to make a commitment to attend a minimum number of sessions in the advanced group. Advanced registration for the A Group is requested.
• The B Group is for in school beginners aged 10 to 18 who have not previously attended the NRA Basic Rifle Course and would like to learn basic shooting skills. Capacity is limited, and advanced registration is required for the B Group.

Registration

Capacity is limited, and advanced registration is required for the B, or beginner, group. Families may receive the instructions to register by emailing Juniors@ftrpa.com. Our volunteers will send out registration links to those who inquire in December 2024.

Final B Group registration must be completed in person at 8:30 AM on Saturday of the first class. Details will be sent to the parents/legal guardians of those who are confirmed in the class.
